Astec have recently been "Highly Commended" by the Association of Interior Specialists in the Product Innovation Awards for their "MOGLI" Glass handler introduced on the One New Change project for Bovis Lend Lease in London.

The panel were impressed with handlers compact, versatile and robust abilities and its abilities to handle safely and securely pieces of glass up to 4.5m in size and 1 ton in weight.

 

With the clever feature of the glass rack folding back on to itself the handler is able to reduce its overall footprint to a size that makes it possible to move around on site in very narrow areas with ease, overcoming significant health and safety problems associated with handling large pieces of glass whilst also reducing the number of people required to manipulate the pieces of glass into place.

 

Phil Clarke, the Bovis Lend Lease Project Director stated "with the MOGLI Astec have been able to overcome considerable challenges on site whilst providing a safer and more efficient installation. This is one of those rare occasions when the contractor has thought about the problems involved and come up with a truly innovative solution"
